Question about Male Flowers

Afternoon All

Daft question but I'm sure I have only male flowers on my spaghetti squash and quite a substantial number on my pink banana squash. Can I confirm that the ones with just a stalk behind the flower are the male ones? Secondly, what do I do to get some fruit? Do I need to self pollinate and if so how?

Sounds like I'm asking about the birds and the bees of concurbits but I'm a bit stuck here so any help gratefully appreciated!

Its common for this family of plants to produce male flowers for a while before the female flowers start.

I've never pollinated squash - or any outdoor members of that family TBH, so I don't think you will need to do anything - except wait!

My courgettes (same family) produced nothing but male flowers (stalk) for ages, just as I was about to give up - there are loads of fruit on them now. My problem now is that they fall over!
Give them a little longer perhaps.

i have a spaghettie squash at the lottie,it has produced two good sized fruits,but as the weather here is so dry,it seems to have gone back to the begging,as in,only male flowers,it's a big plant with a couple of side shoots,one of that seems to be rooting it's self,i did find 2 very small 1inch long females,fell of soggy and yellow,to young to be pollinated,i have fed and tryed to keep it watered,i shall just carry on the same and hope to get some more females in a bit,perhaps its the plants way of preserving it's self ,saving energy until it rains properly again here,the yellow courgettes seem to be doing a lot better by comparison,is alright having this sunny weather,but where has a meaningfull rain fall gone
