Pea alderman disappointing

I grew Alderman the 6 foot pea this year.
And yes it has gown to 6 foot.
But all the flowers are in the top 3 foot.
So I don't see the point.
Anyone else found this.

You would se the point if you had a bad back no bending down when picking .
Mine are just the same make sure that they are well fastened to what ever you are growing them up because they tend to break away when the pods fill up jacob marley

But having said that i have never seen a dwarf gardening and it keeps the kiddie winkles away from them jacob marley

Ah, that explains why my Alderman peas are well taller than me - I thought they grew to 5 foot!!

Mine started to flower at around 3'6" tall but I noticed last night as I was picking the first of the ripe pods that there are more flowers developing lower down the plants now. Loads of flowers, loads of pods forming and I am very happy with them.

I grew alderman the last couple of years. Lovely and sweet, but we just eat them raw. This year I bought some dwarf ones, can't remember the name offhand, but they taste 'harvested' as soon as the pods start to fill. Very disappointing. My broad beans are as tall as me though, 5ft, so I wasn't surprised when alderman got out of reach!

I grew alderman last year, when you start picking peas you get loads of flowers lower down. Am growing again this year because they were so succesful.
