It could be the variety you are growing.Certain types of cauli's try to revert to their natural colour which is purple. The greatness comes not when things go always good for you,but the greatness comes when you are really tested, when you take, some knocks, some disappointments;because only if youv'e been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

Welcome mr & mrs lotty. Don't want to make this to negative and i could be totally wrong, but if the leaves are turning purple, that could be a sign of clubroot. Are the plants stunted or do the leaves wilt during dry weather and recover at night. Hope it's not. Good luck"He that but looketh on a plate of ham and eggs to lust after it hath already committed breakfast with it in his heart"

On most cabbages etc, I find that the outer leaves can get a bit of a purply tinge & sometimes fall off altogether, but the new leaves in the centre are absolutely fine. If the whole thing (inner as well as outer leaves) is going purple, I'd be tempted to pull one up just to check the roots are ok. A sprinkling of chicken manure pellets around the plants won't do them any harm if they might be lacking nutrients.
