Manuring cabbage bed?

Can I put a mulch of well-rotted manure after planting my brassica plants?
I think the soil need beefing-up, and have plenty of manure left.
What else could I mulch with it?

I am digging it in everywhere!
As soon as anything has finished I slap on the manure.

Manure mulch should be fine for just about anything really!

Cabbages should thrive on the slow release nitro as well!
