andi&di,you may well be right,and they in league with sewer rats
quark1,i don't sleep to well as it is,could i now know why i only cope with the basics of a mobile,so i would freek out at a camera one,and yes the plant in question is very fasinating,it seems to change all the while,the flat wide leader shoot,has now split into 2,and 1 of them looks like it going to split also,the leader ends look like flowers,but is only full of tiny courgetts,trying to grow,and going knowhere,with tiny leaves encircling them,had a word with said son,apparently I do have usb ports,what ever and where ever,they are,see the extent of my knowledge .
sewer rat,you are lucky yours are still producing courgetts,my ones would not be of sale size/quality,my FREACK is really struggling,it seems to be very frustrated trying to fruit any place it can within the flat wide shoot thing,good job i am not reliant on it,as i have others with more than i need,i am treating it as a novalty,on 1 side of the 3 end bits looks just like a row of teeth or finger nails,is just the little yellow courgetts,a good 1/2 in long.
daylily,thank you for that,it did get frosted one night,then again so did some others on the plot without mutating.

So now it has teeth & fingernails?!~maybe best take Quark's advice on the sleep front~or at least keep one eye open!!LOL
Just an idea,but maybe plucking at straws~as lots of courgette seed are F1 hybrids maybe a freak seed got through the net?! we've got one of last years has selfseede & it's going mad~nothing like yours but also only similarity to it's mum is that it's yellow!

my seeds were a new packet from kings seeds,got via the lottie society,i have 1 plant in the garden at home,now,it,is a very big plant,is in semi shade,tucked in between the compost bins,the said courgetts seems to be a trailing type,and how,it also gets negleted,but is an extremly healthy plant with large darker green leaves with a silver fleck,and very prickly,
me thinks i will be o/k to sleep as no one has been attacked down at the lottie,YET,
where would be without something to laugh about,it all helps to release the happy hormones.
