I have been harvesting the broad beans and it is a very good crop, but a few beans have brown blotches on the end. It's not really a problem, as I discard the affected ones and there has not been a great number yet. I have been growing beans for quite a few years and this is the first time I have encountered this problem and would be grateful to learn the cause.

Are they on the beans themselves or on the pods? If on the pods, it just means the bean is quite mature. You can still eat them.
I'm not sure about chocolate spot - never had it (nor have my beans!) but I think that affects the leaves. Someone will know!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
