I have noticed that some of the foliage of my carrots has a pink tinge. The carrots are growing fine and look ok. Does this pink tinge mean anything as I have never seen it before and cant find anything wrong with the carrots

I agree with Capsid, usually a sign of carrot fly! Pull a few and you'll sharp tell!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Well I never knew that!~I just thought it was part of the natural process(although with my carrots carrot fly tends to be part of the natural proccess also!!)the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

you lot are lucky to have some to go at lol(i did have 2 x 20 ft rows, that was until the hot weather and badgers ,even covered up with scaffold netting the little xxxxx draged it up the path and had a dig and a munch, about 2 thirds were devastated,so yesterday,i dug up the rest, they are now in the freezer, they also keep having a go at the sweet corn and spudz{i know that it's their favourit grub, worst luck}and they have a sett not to far away,so i spent the whole afternoon constructing a strong wooden frame 11x10 aprox, with nails top and bottom to hang the scaffold netting on as well as the top to keep the pigeons out,i got home 7:30 pm,if they got in last night then nothing more i can do,not able to get down yet today,Last edited by lottie dolly; 17-07-2008, 11:50 AM.sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these
