We've had lots of Sungold, and a few each of Shirley, Sub Arctic Plenty, Tamina and 1 Amish Paste. Bloody Butcher are just starting to turn My plants were all started really early this year though and went into a heated greenhouse - because last year's crop was so rubbish I was determined to have enough to cook with this year!

I have loads of little tiny tomatoes but none actually ripening yet except for the very local variety that we grow round here (Blaby tomatoes) which are doing extremely well.

i have 3 pots of what i believe are tumbler(they are hanging basket ones anyway). Two are outside and one is in my large plastic greenhouse.

All have had lots of flowers for weeks but no tomatoes yet.I am feeding them weekly with food .

Will i run out of time this "summer" for them to fruit and ripen?

How are others as far north as me doing?

I only have one variety (urbikany) - have had 3 so far, 2 currently in the process of turning red, but loads of green ones still.

I have had plenty Golden Sunrise and Harlequin. Both types grown from seed ( propagated February ) and grown on inside until early May when put in unheated green house in 10" pots. Very pleased with results this year for being in E. Yorks. Not the warmest of places

I have read that Moneymaker has a rather bland flavour, and Shirley is the new all round great. There were plants of Shirley in the garden centre early in the year, but I walked past them thinking "Never heard of that" so I can't tell you what they are like!!

We've been picking and eating for two weeks plus now, both the small cherry types and the larger tresse types - and the small poire jaune are just ripe enough to pick. Have some Ildi in a pot on the terrace and they're ages back yet tho.

                        Tomatoes-small crop

This is my first season with a greenhouse so I thought I would grow lots of tomatoes. However I currently seem to have lots of leaves but not much fruit.Does anyone have any tricks or tips to get a really bumper crop as I feel I must be doing something wrong

Deceided to make some courgette chutney but needed 2.5lb of tomatoes. No red ones available so took green ones.

give them feed once a week, you can buy it cheap enough,it gives them a boost,
doff feed is £1 from most places,i have yet to try tomarite feed people say thats great stuff, but i bet its expensive, good luck.

A few years ago I tried several types in a single season:

                              Alisa Craig
                              Gardeners Delight
                              Broad Ripple Yellow Currant
                              Tumbling Tom
                              Alicante
                              Brandywine
                              Super Marmande

                              Out of these:

                              Gardeners Delight
                              Brandywine
                              Super Marmande

I thought were truly fantastic and I've grown them ever since!
