To Pea or not to Pea!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie (although not as new as last year, have got an allotment now!) and was wondering if people thought I would have much luck if I sow some peas now? I sowed some earlier in the year and they have been munched so thought I might try again. What do u think?

Depends on the variety but would certainly give it a go - planted my last lot a couple of weeks ago and they're doing great guns.

I sowed some only 12 days ago (3rd or 4th sowing, lost track a bit) and they popped up within days, they have all come up and have true leaves on now.
Some on here have said they continue sowing peas until the end of this month so I reckon you've just about got time!

PS which variety have you got?

I think you'll have plenty of time to sow more peas. I planted another lot a few weeks ago and they're going great - Kelvendon Wonder.

I know last summer I planted a row the last weekend in July, and I was still cropping them at the end of November. Stick them in and you should get a few anyway - worth the chance I reckon.

The worst case scenerio is that you won't get any peas but you will definately get nitrogenous roots which you can dig back into your soil which will boost the nutrients for next year.

I sowed 6 last week. Plan to do some more, yet! I figured at 80p a pack of seeds, what the heck!

You know what, I'm gonna do the same. Mange tout that I planted are tiny - although producing, they look measly. Planting more can't hurt can it?

i've got peas at about 8 inches in height, mange tout at about 4 inches, and tonight son is going to dig some space in the front garden so i can plant a row of peas and a row of beans, they will either grow or they wont

Ah thanks guys...I've got Kelvedon Wonder and they do say on the pack they can be sown till July! I'm gonna whack them in on Sat!
