Years ago there used to be quite a few around, I used to see and buy from some around the Essex borders and they all had "honesty boxes". However with the decline in general honesty a lot the boxes were stolen, presumably by the same people who stole the charity boxes of shop counters and churches.
I know of at least one here in MK that sells eggs all year round and other items as they are in season.I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.

Hi we have loads round here (Cambs) so many in fact that I prob won't be able to sell any of mine! There is one just up the road about 50 yards in fact. We are down a little side street too so not much passing trade. I have to give my eggs and veg away - there is always a queue of willing takers it seems! I give my parents a lot of stuff as they help me out loads with the children. Might have to invest in a chest freezer for the garage!

We don't exactly find ourselves over-run in Sheffield with road side stalls! However, my family are in the peak district, and there's a fair few around there.
It's one the things I love about being abroad actually, all the roadside produce. Happy memories of tons of amazing avocados, mangos and pineapples in Queensland, and piles of delicious but seriously ugly tomatoes and potatoes in Portugal. And figs! God I love figs. £2.79 for 4 in Waitrose!I don't roll on Shabbos

We have them in Surrey. Sadly, the best cake table around had the entire thing stolen last year - they bundled up the cloth and took the lot. I was furious on the lady's behalf. It hasn't been the same, since, as I think she's worried about putting too much stock out at once. It's quite common to see excess plants, flowers, veg, jam...etc outside people's houses. That's what I love about the countryside. You wouldn't see that in Bolton!
