This year I am using (out of necessity) supermarket spuds as seed for my 2nd crop. I am also starting to prepare a new bed for next year's potatoes. I was planning to follow this year's potatoes with winter brassicas and a small 'spare' bed for the 2nd crop spuds.
My problem is this; The 'spare' bed is currently home to a few spare toms, cues and courgettes. I was planning to try to move them but it occurrred to me to perhaps use the new bed I am preparing for the 2nd crop instead and follow next spring with the next crop of spuds. There is, however, the possibility of disease from the supermarket spuds. If they do turn out to be diseased, will this write off the bed for potatoes next year? Might I be better off planting this year's winter brassicas in the new potato bed and planting the 2nd crop potatoes in the bed used for this year's spuds?
Confused!!??
