my plants have grown to not far off 3 foot but there is no sign of any corn, should it be looking like the normal corn and will i get any baby cobs?

I would not be worried at this stage as of yet, your corn will develop corn cobs and it's kennels in a later reproductive stage of it's life.

Here are a couple of websites that might help:

What kind of corn are you growing?

Let us know, how it turns out.

I am lucky as I live in the largest corn growing region in the world, and they will be selling fresh sweet corn on certain street corners for about another 2-3 weeks.

Mine is the same, I have about 8 in a largish pot and they vary between 2 & 3 foot. My other half says they normally ready about September time so fingers crossed.

Probably after about 4 feet the cobs appear.
