  • Oumpkin - Is it dying?

I have an Atlantic Pumpkin that's been doing quite well with a tennis ball sized, green pumpkin nestling under the leaves for the last few weeks.

I noticed it wasn't getting any larger and a couple of days ago it started changing colour. It's now bright yellow and feels a little soft. Is it dying?

Although I have a different type of pumpkin growing, its is yellow and the size of a tennis ball ( well a bit bigger ), but it certainly isn't soft though. Is it sitting on the ground? i put mine on a bit of wood and covered it to stop the sun scorching. Hope this helps.

If it's soft, it's already deceased

there will be plenty more coming along! don't worry, I am having a nightmare trying to limit my atlantic giants to just two pumpkins per plant. they seem to grow new shoots with a fruit on the end almost overnight!! well it seems like it to me anyhow

Do I need to snap it off then?

Everything seems to have slowed down this week with the exception of the cabbages and caulis that are going great guns. Hurry up, hurry up greenhouse inhabitants!
