Nicos, I am growing tepin as well, however the hottest chillie is a Dorset Naga, bred in, well Dorset by a guy called Micheal Michoud who has been on the River Cottage series. Its Scoville rating is over 900 000, nearly twice that of the previous record.

Phew, a real ring stinger methinks

I got mine from Thompson and morgan, they are real pigs to germinate, took nearly a month for about 50% germination, mind, I'm not usig a heated propagator, just a standard placcy lidded one on a windowsill

Strange, but we eat chilli in some form 6 days out of 7, but I can't stand it too hot!! I think we must be growing these hot+++ ones to try out on our inhebriated friends!!!
            found this great website:-

            http://www.chileseeds.co.uk/very-hot...er-seeds-1.htm

            - they even sell chilli flavoured chewing gum! (might be of help to those of you trying to stop smoking????)

We only have 1 out of 4 so far germinated 3 weeks after sewing.

Much prefer flavour to heat, we're growing cayenne, early jalapeno and ancho 101.

Just as an aside I saw some one on ebay selling chipotle chilli seeds to grow! Ya gotta laff.

FYI try chipotle chillis in a soup made from winter squash - very nice!

I'm with you Little Dig. Mine have been in a propagator like yours, in an unheated greenhouse for three weeks and I have this very night had my first seed germinate Not exactly quick out of the blocks are they
This is my first time at growing chilli's so not sure what the norm germination period is supposed to be.

LJ , the tepin seeds were from T&M but alas I have no Dorset Naga's growing but here is a link for some info.

                  http://www.thechileman.org/naga_morich.php

As for germination Rat, they are much improved if you do them in propogators and then take them out asap after germination. They are the only thing that I start off in a propogator. Without one, even in a warm room you will only get a few germinate and they will take ages, often several weeks for things like Tepin.

I think I was lucky with my chillies. I had mine on the bedroom windowsill (warmest room) and they have all germinated. They are now in the greenhouse waiting to be potting on when they have a second pair of leaves.

Hi, I had a pot of this bio pest control. It's run out, and I can't find it anywhere. Only the ready mixed bottles of it. It's great struff. Does anyone know where to buy more of the concentrate (online ?) Many thanks
