Veg plot and shady patches

Hello

I have a shady area in my veg plot it gets alittle bit of sun but not alot, can anyone recommend anything (fruit or veg) that would grow well in these conditions other than mushrooms???????

Raspberries or rhubarb. You could try a few brassicas as an experiment as well.
I have an area which is shaded by a tree's leaves. It drops it's leaves in winter so I'm growing spring cabbage there over winter!

I have my veg in pots outside my door (the only space I have) which receives about an hour of direct sunlight a day and is pretty shaded the rest of the time due to being between a tall brick wall and the side of my house. I've had really good luck with runner beans and strawberries, and good success with lettuce, chard, etc. My single zucchini plant has produced five zucchinis so far, and my tomato plants are full of small green fruits and lots of flowers. This is my first year here, and I've really had a lot more success than I expected.. having never gardened in pots, the UK, and shade. I'd suggest trying what ever you'd like.. some things will surprise you, and other things will do poorly. Just plant a wide variety, and you'll be sure to have some produce. Get your soil in the best possible condition for next spring, so the only adverse thing your plants will face is the lack of direct sun.
