"this year im growing Moneymaker and alsia craig"

Me too! I have since read that Moneymaker do not have good flavour and that F1 Shirley (which I think is new / newish) is a better choice. So I've bought seed of that to try next year.

I also grow Gardeners Delight, which have small Cherry-type fruit, which I think are tasty and useful in salads etc.

My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I'm growing these too, in staffs aswell! Its my first time growing, so I can't yet tell you how they taste. The moneymakers are bred for large and reliable crops rather than taste, but the Alsia Craigs came to me highly recommended.

I'm experimenting with as many types as possible (about ten varieties) this year. From a practical point of view I'd advise trying to cover all your culinary needs, for example some plum tomatoes for making sauce, salad tomatoes, beef tomatoes, and a cherry variety.

Growing 8 different varieties this year. Only tried 2 of them so far Red Cherry and Harbinger. Harbinger were some free seeds from last year when I wasn't very impressed with them even though they ripen early - this year they're much nicer - not sure why!

This year growing Ferline, Black Russian, Moneymaker, Red Alert, Lettuce Leaf and Sub Artic Plenty. Have grown Ferline, Red Alert and Moneymaker in the past and get on well with all of them but the others are all new.

Oh yes, also growing some hanging basket ones as they're always nice by the back door. The best variety to grow depends on if you're growing in / outside, exposed or sheltered location, whether you like cherry, plum etc types but I tend to grow a few different types so that I have a selection and can use them for different purposes.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

This year I've got tumbling tom, sunbaby yellow and moneymaker. The latter I've not eaten (no toms yet) but the others are good.

Next year: Sweet Olive F1, Ildi, and summat else I've got seeds for that I can't remember the name of. I like the little tomatoes for eating, but thinking I should grow some bigger ones for cooking.

Recommendations for a gorgeous, sweet, cherry-sized plum-type tomato anyone?

ShirleyF1 is great for your average sized salad tomatoes, early, good flavour, healthy plants. Unless you eat a Lot of tomatoes then 2 plants will be more than enough, thay crop heavily! Also 'Tamina' from T&M produces very similar toms to Shirley, but the seeds are a fair bit cheaper!

For cherry sized toms, I think Sungold is best. Great flavour, sweet, really strong plants - I've got one still in a 3inch pot & it's fruiting!

For cooking tomatoes, I'm still trying to choose. I've got San Marzano, Rio Grande, Golden Plum & Amish Paste growing this year. I'll definately grow Amish Paste again - the fruits are Huge, some the size of cooking apples already! The flavour is fantastic too, only drawback is that they are a bit prone to greenback (where the top of the tom doesn't fully ripen). Out of the others, none are ripe yet, so I'll decide on those later.

                        .
I thoroughly agree with Sarzwix - Sungold is a superior cherry tom.

I wouldn't bother with the Gartenperle hanging basket cherry tomato. Excellent crop but of extremely bland, poorly textured fruits.
                        Cheers

I'm growing Scatolone, Pomodoro, Paul Robeson and Lemon tree this year in a greenhouse. All of the toms are huge, so I'm guesssing that its maybe down to the weather and the fact that they are only just starting to ripen, which seems a little late to me this year. My first Paul Robeson is busy ripening in the window and will be ready in the next day or two, so I'll let you know what it tastes like

                            Lemon Tree
Tomato seeds G to L, trailing, patio, cherry, grape tomato

                            Paul Robeson
Black Tomato Seeds - Black Tomatoes

Couldn't wait a day or so for the Paul Robeson and have just added it to tonights Salad to go with my Pizza. I'd rate it an 8/10 for flavour even though its a little early. Can't wait to try the rest of them when properly ripen.

Just goggled it, no sign of a website selling seeds - any ideas? Where do you get yours from?
