  • Swede

My April sown swede are now the shape of a small butternut squash and i am hoping they will fill out some more to harvest in September.
This is the first time i have grown swede so i am assuming i am on track
The verity i am growing is 'Ruby'.

So how are your swede's doing? What stage are they at?

Planted mine out within the last week or so. Variety helinor. They should have gone out *lots* earlier but I was waiting for space! The top of the roots has that characteristic purpliness but I can't say I have noticed anything else swedey about them yet.
Warning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.

Planted mine out early after growing them in trays and have been eating them for about 2 weeks now.
They are about six inches across.

Mine were sown about 2/3 months ago and some planted out - some put in a seed bed - ie held back - until I had space. So, I've got a load all at different stages. None ready yet though.
