  • tomatos??

I grew the plant, and I can see many flowers - but not fruit. What should I do?

    Thanks, Nitzan.

    Wait, and feed it.

If it's in a greenhouse, make sure the vents are open often enough that insects can get in to pollinate the flowers.

But I heard that I should touch the flowers so I am doing the "bugs" work. Should I do that?

Hello N1992, yes your tomatoes are a bit behind. They are self fertilising but the conventional wisdom says mist them with water and tap the canes to help the fruit to set.
I've just noticed you're in Israel. I don't know anything about growing conditions there. If you were in the UK you cold be a bit late to get tomatoes to fruition now, but in Israel maybe you have plenty of time. If the flowers are there the fruits will follow. Good luck.

Is your greenhouse too hot in Israel this time of year? over about 30 C I don't think the fruit will set.

You need to do the tap-the-plants thing (you should be able to see, and smell, the pollen as it falls), and misting will help if the humidity is low, or temperature is high.

If your greenhouse temperature is very high pour water on the floor - as it evaporates it will lower the temperature a bit.
