Sweetcorn in a row

Hi everyone,
I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago, but i can't find it. I wanted to know the outcome of my sweetcorn planted in a row. Some said forget it, others maybe, and a few it should be fine. Well, so that you know, on this occasion, they all worked! Tapped em lightly a few times, but other than that, stood back and did nothing! Over the moon. :-)

i'm hoping my ..... er ...2... sweetcorn plants might do that too, but i'm not holding my breath, can't believe i only have 2 plants after planting a whole packet, but if i get 2 cobs i'll be happy

I didn't realise just how much better they taste compared to shop bought ones.

Well done you!! The theory is that if you plant them in a block and can't get there to tap the plants the wind should shake the plants and blow the pollen onto the neighbouring ones. Obviously if they're in a block it doesn't matter which way the wind is blowing cos some of the pollen will land on another sweetcorn plant.
