Hi there I am interested in tall pea varieties and have sent for some Alderman peas. I stumbled across this site and noticed a few of you have some other tall varieties.. I live in Consett Co Durham So if anyone can spare a few to set me away that would be much appreciated Thank You.

Hi Nopy and welcome to the Grapevine.
As Bren in Pots has said ^^^^ the T&Cs of this forum require you to be a member for at least a month and to have made at least 50 posts before you ask for seeds. Sorry and all that but stick around and keep posting!!

            Champion of England

Then I read about Champion of England pea, I mean, what a name to start with, it sounded great.... then I discover you can't actually buy the seed anymore, got myself all worked up for nothing.

So what am I after, am I gently enquiring if anyone here has any CoE seeds? maybe slightly, but I'm also after a good old tall pea where you can actually get hold of the seed.
Personal experienced recommendations very much appreciated.
            Hi womble,

Champion of England peas are available at The Real Seed Catalogue. They are based in Wales and the web site is Buy quality Vegetable Seeds - The Real Seed Catalogue UK.. You have to pay membership (the princely sum of 1p (yes 1p!) which is payable on first order. They have lots of rare/rescued varieties and are particularly in favour of people saving seed. I discovered the site earlier this year, have ordered from them and their service is very good with quick turn-round.
Hope this is of use to you (and perhaps others too!

            Regards
            tjay

Yes Real Seeds and Champion of England were discussed on this thread in 2012. Unfortunately Womble hasn't been on this forum since then so is unlikely to see your post.

Hello TJ & welcome to the vine, I'm sure Womble would have appreciated your advice 8 years ago when they were looking for them. However it's very good of you to offer this advice for any other members looking for this variety.

Oops, guess that I didn't look at the posting date. Just came across the site when browsing the net and noticed the request. Must be more attentive to such things in future!
