When will tomatoes ripen?

When are our tomatoes going to ripen Every single plant has fruit on, some have huge fruits, but they are all still green. Some other people on the allottment have loads of red toms and others still have green like us!
Should they be ripening soon, esecially with all this sun?

Im sorry to say this but today i have picked loads of tomatoes, we have had red (orange, green, black, purple, pink, yellow and all the other colours) Ready.
They will be ready soon just keep waiting

i was reading that it is the heat that ripens them not the light and that in greenhouses small amounts/moderate watering twice daily. If like me you've been opening all greenhouse windows (and sometimes forgetting at night) and also waiting till they're dry to water this might account for it. i shall water more and keep the heat in

I also have loads of green Toms just looking at the sun....I'm sure they have there factor 65's on!!!!!
I am very happy with my tomato's each day I get just a little handful of red toms to add to that nights salad. So at the moment I have no waist and no Tomato relish etc on the go in the kitchin.

My little cherry tomatoes are ripening fast - don't know what type they are! The big ones are still very green though I think some of them might be begining to turn! Roll on the day - all sorts of preserves I want to make!

Was scratching around the back of the cupboard having a clean out and came across some Plum Gumbo I made two years ago. It has aged beautifully and is very mellow in taste!

Will have to scratch around, but basically a plum chutney but I know it had orange in it as well, which is what made it so different!

I have had a look through all my books, but it is not there. I must have got the recipe out of a library book! Will pay a visit and see if I can find it some time!

no worries squirrel, ain't got no plums this year - tree planted, so maybe next year?!
