whilst looking for places to buy seed potatoes for next year i stumbled across this : East Anglia Potato Day

solves my problem of buying the small quantities of different varieties that i like. and as its held on Valentines day its a day out for hubby too.

I hope hubby's as excited by the idea of a Valentine's potato day as I would be!

Thanks for the tip-off, looks good. They had 700 people last year.
It's 3 hrs by public transport for me (nightmare) but half that by car. So Mr Sheds will have to come too
(It's also right near my sister's so we could drop in for dinner afterwards perhaps)

Thanks for that link, Poozie - I want to get just a few seed potatoes this year, so the Potato Day would be ideal. Hmm, Valentines Day - perhaps I can convince my OH that we should have a romantic trip out to the Suffolk coast

A bit too far for me. Luckily one of the stalls in the local market sells different varieties of seed potato's as well as other seeds and plants.

Other attractions include a speaker, seeds, books, tools, refreshments, produce, chip tasting, information and advice.
Sounds good, with a seed swop opportunity and a Valentines lunch = bag of chips!

I am thinking about going down to this event but it is a long way to go.
I have asked for details about it.
Was anyone on here there last year?
I wonder if they provide the stalls or if you have to take your own?
I have never gone to one of these before.

I'd like to go ... long way for me on a bike though. Bike + train = nightmare

Thankyou for posting - i think i am going to try and go along, even though i am new to growing potatoes, sounds like it will be a nice day out!

Maybe i can persuade my other half with the 'chip and potato tasting'!

Or for those of you that can't wait, I was in my local Wilkos today and they were doing packs of 5 seed tatties for £1, several varieties.
