Just a warning for anyone else like me and the dictionary that think the word prevent actually means to stop something. Please see the URL below Marshalls claim they sacks prevent light transmission. Upon receiving mine it was clear you could get s suntan through them, all be it a grid like tan. Upon calling customer service I was dealt with professionally but told no one had complained before and prevent does not actually mean it will stop the light. I suggested hinder or reduce maybe more descriptive then prevent. I was offered a imediate refund, which I may accept or simple just use 2 bags.

yeah. you still have to keep the sacks in the dark. Hessian lets the spuds breathe a bit.

I keep my spuds in hessian sacks inside a garden storage box inside the garage that keeps them in the dark, as two sheds says the sacks allow the spuds to breathe the other advantage I find over paper sacks is if you get a spud go rotten in the sack it is less likely to disintergrate and drop the contents all over the floor when you pick it up.

We use old pear boxes from tescos; with newspaper over the top. Kept in the outhouse.

You can pile them up, and if they don't touch each other then if one goes rotten the others don't.

We use cardboard boxes from the corner shop, then chuck an old blanket over the top to make absolutely sure there's no light transmission and give a bit extra frost protection. It keeps them at least until February - and possibly longer, but we've usually eaten them all by then.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
