  • Help. Some last minute pre-holiday veg questions

Rather last minute this but I need to prepare my garden for going away and had a few questions:

my climbing borlottis are nice and pink/red - can I leave them on for the two weeks or should I pick them and leave them in the fridge?

my chantenay carrots aren't doing much and are about 4 inches high - will these grow anymore or shall I pull them out as I need the space?

toms - I found one tomato with blight on each of two different plants...is the whole plant now infected and should I pull them out?

I do appreciate the advice - just been too busy with other things to get this sorted and now I only have a few hours

    Rightio, back to the packing....

Pick the beans - there will be new ones by the time you get back

Leave the carrots unless you really need the space (what are you going to plant out RIGHT NOW just before you go away?)

Bin the tomatoes (you can't watch them if you're not there, so don't take any chances)

That's what I reckon but what do I know.
    Have a great holiday!

Is it really blight? Do check before you destroy your plants.

Lots of people see a bit of wilty leaf, a bit of brown, and assume it's blight when it's not.

Back from hols...and the blight was blight - the toms outside the greenhouse are dead as a proverbial dodo and were put in the council recycle bin. The toms inside the greenhouse are blight free and red - YEAH!!!!

Everything else is huge though...has it been raining here???

It's only rained a couple of times. Once from Sunday morning to Saturday night and the other from Sunday night till Saturday morning.

hey that's exaggerating. I'm sure it stopped for an hour or two on Wednesday.
