  • Blight

    Morning all,

Have been down my garden this morning to have a chat with me veg (as you do), when i discovered that one of my tomato plants is looking rather sorry for itself, now i am a little concerned that it may have blight as it is going yellowish and getting black spots on the leaves.

I know a photo would be best but I don't know how to yet. would it be best to burn the plant and get rid of the soil as they are in pots or should i try some remodies, as i have noticed it could be many things. but i expect it is blight given the last few weeks of weather.

Also should i just get rid of the one or should i get rid of all the plants?

    ?

    Any Advice most apreciated.

I don't think it's blight from what you've said. The leaves do tend to go yellow and tatty as the plant gets older. You can safely remove the leaves (just in case it is blight, don't compost them) and see how the thing progresses. If it is blight you'll get black slimy leaves and brown rotting fruits. THEN you panic!
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Are there any brown patches on the stems, or mid veins of the leaves?
If so then maybe it could be the dreaded blight.....sorry

Also the fruit tends to start changing colour and getting little rust spots on them before the whole plant succumbs to it. If that is the case quickly harvest the fruit you can discard any fruit that is too manky and make green tomato chutney.
