    I'll consider myself lucky then, or inexperienced at the very least, i am right next door to you, and due to the fact i am impatient and have never grown toms before I took mine all off green and ripened indoors.

    i feel for you over the cabbage whites, my mum is in lancing too, and keeps chooks so we planted off at least 50 cabbages for them, they came up well, but once the catties got them they looked like lace, still the chooks liked the catties almost as much as the cabbages so not a total loss.

      I shall count myself lucky then. I'm just along the coast from BrideXIII & Grovsey and i haven't got any blight yet "touch wood". I only have three moneymaker plants in the back garden and they are all fine, although a bit bland due to not enough sun this year.
