Potato Soil

My Mum has just dug up her potatoes and was wondering what to put in the soil next, i asume that she cannot plant potatoes in that soil again, or is there anything simple that she can use to make the soil useable for potatoes again?

By the way it is compost in tubs

i think compost in tubs should be replaced for every new plant, as the plant will have taken all the nutrients from it, sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

About the only thing that will grow in once used growbags or compost in tubs are salad veg this year or carrots for next year!

As Lynda says, potatoes are gross feeders and will render the compost in the tubs useless for anything else.

I wonder if you could try adding the nutrients back in by stirring in some chicken pellets or something?

Otherwise just spread the compost about in the garden beds (but not where spuds or tomatoes will go next year!) as it will be good as organic matter even if low on nutrients - then fill the tubs with fresh.
