Just thought i would tell everybody about some uses for all things plastic. Firsty dont throw your plastic containers that had fruit in them from the supermarket. Apparently they can be used as mini propagators.
2. Two litre bottles can be used as Slug traps, you cut the bottle about a quarter of the way down, invert the bottle neck inside the other bit . Pour beer in it and the slugs go in. A nice cheap and cheerfull way to deal with our pesky friends.
3. once again you can use 2 litre bottles to encourage water down to the roots of your plants. Cut the bottle half way down, place the neck part upside down in your soil, place your hosepipe in it. This will aid with channelling the water to the roots, also for all year round use for guiding the rainwater to your roots. Of course you can use upturned plant pots also.
I know all the seasoned veggie growers will know this, i just thought it would help all the newbie veggies like myself.

I use the 1 litre bottles you get Tesco flavoured water in, on top of canes over which I put netting. It holds the netting up nicely, and they rattle in the wind to frighten the birds (haha)

I use the large placcy bottle necks as mini-cloches. One is in use trying to save my ONE Kale, which got attacked by the Slimy Ones.

if you cut large coke bottles into rings with pinking shears the spikey edges deter slugs.

I too use the clear plastic bottles as mini-cloches and watering "stations". I also use the very large milk bottles, cut off the top at an angle but leave the handle in place and you've got a carrier/storage place for screwdrivers, tools etc. Smaller ones I do the same and use for holding plant lables (cut out of margarine container lids), scissors and a fine marker pen.
