Parsnips; might be a bit late but the rest will probably grow through the winter. Keep an eye on the leeks, they will probably bolt come the warm weather [if we get any next year], and harvest them as baby leeks if they do. Or leave some to flower and give you new seeds.

Just planted some purple and Toscana kale in the pots I had my toms in to try and make a bit of use of greenhouse space throughout the winter! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

i bunged some carrot, parsnip, leeks and onion seeds in today, seemed daft to leave the bed empty if theres a possibility they will grow, can only try.... i guess it all depends when your frosts come, we often don't get frost till well after xmas. tomorrow i've got some broccoli and caulis to sow.

Good news on the leek front.
I put some seedlings in about a week ago, mainly because I had them / had forgotten to plant them out and wanted something to mark out the dividing line between the various sections on my alliums bed!! I figured if they even grow to spring-onion size it'll be better than nowt...
Got some caulis to sow when I get back from hols next week and some garlic cloves to go in, and more than half the onions (sets & seedlings) yet to plant! Oh, and then broad beans and o/w peas. I thought this was supposed to be the *quiet* time of year!!Warning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.

What variety do you use?
Apparently Feltham First is another variety suitable for overwintering.
Not guaranteed to get a result - but if the winter isn't too hard we could be eating peas nice and early next yearWarning: I have a dangerous tendency to act like I know what I'm talking about.
