Blown Sprouts

Does anyone know how to stop sprouts from blowing?
This is the second year I have had the problem and despite following advice from the experts on my allotment, it has happened again.
The advice was to make a hole about 4 or 5 inches deep and plant the sprout in the bottom. As the plant grows, fill in the hole and firm around the base.
This would allow the sprout to "stem root" to give it extra stability and stop it blowing...... didn't work.
Is movement really the problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

I dig a small hole put some lime in and some old compost out of a grow bag from last year and really ferm it down, might be an ider to put a cardbord coller around the bace to stop weeds you my be losening the soil when you weed? just a thought I may do that next year

Is there a tendancy for the taller varieties to blow more?

we grow evesham last year they where fine this year we grow evesham and one outher that I can not find. Mrs D has been in my seed box again
just looking at the ones for next year

the outheres say sow in march and plant out may jun
plat firmly to encourage solid button formation and stake in exposed gardens
