Hi all, seems ages since i posted hope you are all well.

Anyhoo i have had quite a few mixed results from my first full years planting.
One success was the Sweetcorn(lark i think) of which we all enjoyed.

We averaged 2 cobs per plant but have constantly gazed in awe at the absolutly HUGE Sweetcorn plants, they have got to be in excess of six foot !! in the plot opposite.

I know size isn`t everything but would love to know if any of you know the variety as the grower "grunted, mumbled, belched, broke wind and then told me to sod off " when i asked him, not that i had done anything wrong hes just a little broken in places. Bless him.

Could be a lot of things, old fashioned open-pollinated ones, flour corn, etc.

Even hybrid sweetcorn varieties differ in hight.

Year before last (my first go at gardening) I grew Swift, the plants were magnificent - well over 6 foot tall. However, as I didn't have a clue, I missed the flowers at the top and didn't shake the plants to ensure good pollination - hence no cobs worth speaking of. But as already said, I think most corn grows pretty tall.

am i right in thinking that mini pop are like the ones you can buy frozen for stir fries,if so ,roughly how many per plant please,it's helpfull to know,how many plants to grow.
