erm i suppose it depends on how long ago you planted it?

mine has been in pots for about 2 - 3 weeks, and i moved it today, the roots were lovely, planted it out into ridged beds.

if it was me, and I know nothing, i would at least wait until they showed signs of life before moving them.

Nah, you can move them anytime. The growing energy is stored in the bulb - I've moved both onions and garlics several times during the year and they just carry on a few weeks later. if they have deep roots then try and move them all but 10 days is nothing.

The golden rule when moving something, is to do it when it's dormant (or at least not when it's growing like mad).

                  Least disturbance, that way
