Egyptian Tree Onions

Bought some Egyptian Tree Onions a while ago and actually complained that they werent growing.
I was sent a few replacements and they didn't grow either
All of a sudden, a month later they started growing.
It appears to me they must be reacting to the daylight length as we near the end of summer
It may be summer in egypt? now but its starting to get colder round here!
As there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum someone has probably grown them any tips would be appreciated
