I prefer roses and tea ..... but the garden is doing my head in, really do think i should get out there and remove the dead stuff .... and i still have a bloody chicken house to finish, and some strawberries and romanesco to plant ..... so can't really put it off

I know... My allotments are desperate for some attention; clearing, weeding, tidying, planting garlic etc.
But A) the weather's been P.A.N.T.S, and B) I just have no Ooomph at all...
      So it'll have to wait!

The pumpkin I was growing for Halloween succumbed to the frost It was all squidgy and not nice at all. On the plus side, the chooks loved it
I managed to gather up a bit of ooomph today after I'd been to Lidl and got a couple of packs of sloe plants for the front hedge, a couple of crab apple trees for the chooks enclosure, and a pack of 3 gooseberry bushes for the lottie. Went to said lottie and removed the canes and the old remains of the beans, dug that bit over and put the gooseberry bushes in water ready to plant out tomorrow (when it's warmed up a bit, well above freezing anyway )
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

well i've just been very good and been out and planted the romanesco plants.... there was space under the polytunnel as i pulled up the courgettes squash and pumpkins (at least i started getting rid of dead stuff ....... covered them over with fleece, just to make sure they are snug, till they get established ...... hopefully might get something off them and theres still plenty of space for the strawberry plants when they arrive .... had enough now, though it wasn't really cold ..... and lovely and sunny ...... bet it's cold tonight though

I was good yesterday, planted out 3x Lidl gooseberries and 3x Lidl raspberries, and dug over one bed where I need to put some spring bulbs in before it's too late. But I STILL haven't got the ratted garlic in! Maybe it'll be nice tomorrow...

oooooooo i just remembered, i planted a load of garlic months ago between my broccoli ...... it sprouted in the fridge, so i bunged it in ....... wonder how that's doing lol ..... think i may go have a look at that tomorrow *wonders if it's dead yet* anyway, all the stuff that looked dead, has all perked up again now, and i pulled up a parsnip, from the back garden, to see what's happening with them ...... apart from having 4 roots, it's actually pretty big, so i'm gonna leave them for a bit, but i may pull some up and honey roast them tomorrow ...... yum ....... really must get some more soil to get the garden deeper.

i planted my lidl bushes on thursday ...... will probably need to replant them, when they get bigger, but the place they will be going in is full of carrots, onions and caulis at the moment...... i really need this flipping allotment, wish the council would hurry and get off their bums
