germinating peas

i have had a search and cant seem to find an answer to my problem ! 2 weeks ago i sowed 10 peas in individual cells and one by one they have rotted away to mush... i put the seeds in at the said depth and did what it says on the packet i havnt watered them again since sowing so i dont think it can be that...please help

my sweetcorn did the same, when i turned them out, they were too wet at the bottom of the cells, they were quite dry at the top.

You could try sprouting them on damp blotting paper before planting. They have to be round seeded peas not wrinkle seeded varieties for autumn sowing for exactly that reason.........to prevent rotting!

First question, was the seed fresh? Second question, how wet was the compost? Third question, where were they put to germinate?
I soak all peas and beans overnight in tepid water to swell them. Then plant into moist, not wet, compost. You can also try soaking the seeds and leaving them on damp kitchen towel until they sprout before putting into compost.

I don't know anything about growing in the Canary Islands Tracy, but I'd put my money on too hot and wet and the peas just rotted.
I'd go for sprout them on the damp kitchen paper then plant into moist compost. Good luck.
