The water heater is being replaced on Wednesday, so no hot water until then. The carpet is drying out and I have booked an electrician to check the light as there was water dripping from the light bulb . The ceiling doesn't look too bad - there is a bit of damage but I might get away with polyfilla and a coat of paint when it is thoroughly dry.Last edited by Penellype; 26-04-2024, 05:19 PM.

There was never going to be any gardening time today as I went to Harrogate Flower Show, but the day was not helped by water coming through my hall ceiling yesterday evening. Every spare moment was spent trying to find a plumber who could work around the flower show (notice the priorities here!) and I now have cold water but not hot. I have no idea when normality will be restored as I am also having all the fascia boards on my house replaced next week, which will restrict my time at the allotment.
