I like looking at these onion sets in the kitchen window, there’s more green coming through today. Tomorrow I need to look at them again & collect all the little 3” pots that are around the patio & put them in the shed. Cut down the dahlias at the bottom of the garden & mulch the base of the plants,I leave them in the ground. Move the leaves aside that fall & cover my onions & garlic,my grapevine & rhubarb has about 5” of the leaves all around it but it needs to feed that bit of soil where the massive blossom tree is,so it stays in that area but not on my little plants

Yesterday we went to one of those cheap pound style shops and I managed to get some sound seed garlic and some onion sets. For just £1 per pack. I think the onions are a bit late to plant but nothing ventured... certainly the garlic should be fine. Five full bulbs for £2. Can’t be bad. I’m going out to plant them in modules in the polytunnel right now.
