    No gardening time yesterday although I did pot up a tomato sideshoot and moved the sprouting dahlias to the growhouse. Someone recommended Vicks vaporub as a slug deterrent so having had my dahlias massacred by slugs last year, I smeared some around the rims of the pots as an experiment.

    Also spent ages removing cat poo and fetching holly trimmings from the allotment in a desperate attempt to deter the wretched animal, and put up a net to cover the bed where the brassicas are going - this took a lot longer than expected so only the 2 calabrese plants that are staying at home got planted.

    The peas were moved round yesterday. Also moved the pots of brassica salads (which are flowering) out of the greenhouse for the bees.

    Also cut grass at allotment, raked out a small fraction of the huge amounts of moss (it was clogging the mower) and tidied the shed.

    Very little gardening time today, but I intend to move the peas to the greenhouse to make room for the next lot under lights.
