Harvest cucumber, tomatoes, beans, beetroot, romanesco, check peas, strawberries - done except harvested turnip and carrot instead of romanesco.

    Collect rain water

No chance of any gardening today as everywhere is under water and it is forecast to rain all day. No gardening time tomorrow.

    • Weekend jobs

      At my friend's
      Weeding
Dig over bed where peas were*
      Water greenhouse plants
      Harvest tomatoes

*I usually do no dig, but my friend's garden is next to fields and there are definite rat runs under the veg garden. I have tried filling them with water, but that doesn't seem to stop more holes from appearing. Apart from the idea of working that near rats (which is probably happening anyway to be honest), the rat runs deprive the plants of water and I have had sections of pea plants die as a result. So I am digging to disturb them as they do not like being disturbed.

      At allotment
Uncover tomato and courgette plants protected from frost
Check plants for wind and frost damage
      Collect more flood water
      Weeding and horsetail
Harvest tomatoes if any, courgette, beans, romanesco, pink blueberries

      At home
      Weeding
      Deadheading
      Start planning for next year
      Water greenhouse plants
Harvest tomatoes, peppers, beans, summer leeks, carrots
