Snails and Tomatoes

I planted tomato seedlings a few weeks ago and they have since been decimated by snails/slugs.

Most have no leaves left on them at all, and i was just wondering weather they will actually grow at all, or is it better just to rip them out and start again.

The few that do still have leaves have only got a few, so would it be worth keeping them as well??

No leaves at all? Probably had it. The plant can't feed itself without leaves.

Start again, protect from snails. What I do, is start the plants off in pots first, to protect them, then plant out when they are bigger and tougher. Snails and slugs love young tender growth, so you need the plant growing strongly before it faces them.
