  • How late do you sow?

Just wondering how late you lovely Grapes will sow things like Sugarsnap peas, Runners, Climbing French Beans. I got so many packs of seeds in the sale I am tempted to sow a selection of each this weekend but don't want to open the packs if they're not going to produce in time. I'm in North Cambs.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

A bit of "how long is a piece of string" sort of question, I presume they are going in open ground, so I would say go for it and see how it goes, you should have 3 months before a frost.

I will be sowing some beetroot and carrots and if I stayed down south I would continue till August
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I haven’t sowed carrots or peas yet, when I lift the potatoes I’ll have some spare containers,I’ve been getting carried away with planting tomatoes There’s still a lot of plants here to plant out,it’s good if you know where to sow them then it’s easy to pop out there

You should get crops from all of those where you are if you plant them now, unless we get a terrible summer.
Peas are very prone to mildew with a late sowing, though, so if you have a mildew resistant variety, go for that.

Thanks all, I decided to chit some Runners, Climbers and Sugarsnaps. Still to plant more roots and brassicas plus continuing with lettuces, spring onions etc.

Did you see Montys garlic “he” must’ve planted one of the cloves upside down in the autumn,I’ve never seen that before (if you didn’t see it,the stem had the garlic twisted under, that’s hard to explain,it’s how something looks if you planted it upside down ).
