  • Runners & Climbing beans

The extremely high temperatures last week, actually burnt lots of my runners and climbing French beans, dispute being watered, is it likely they will produce more flowers at this late stage? I have given them a feed to encourage!

I would think they will produce more flowers - nothing to lose if you leave them to see what happens.

My blue lake got a bit baked too, but there's flowers and young beans coming on them now it's cooled down a bit.

I have had to spray the leaves with water on some of mine.
The best crop has been on three plants strung up into a hawthorn tree so in partial shade.

Ours were stressed and only producing beany pods but this week they've really picked up and are now making up for lost time.

Mine seemed to have been woken up by the recent rain.

Mine too. They had a really good soaking with the thunderstorms and haven’t looked back!

Rain here today, so am hoping this will give them a kick start!

Looking at how the rains improved my beans I ought to think of watering them more in future.
