Planted out toms and cucumber in new bed

Dug out and renewed the heated bed in the greenhouse and planted out Gardeners' Delight tomatoes and Baby F1 cucumbers. I plant them as soon as they have first true leave.
The pics show the planted bed, the cable before back-filling and materials for filling.
The bed keeps about 16-18C and I cover it with fleece at night.

The lights are just there for a few weeks until the sun clears the hedge.

No melons this year - the greenhouse is too small and although successful for last two year, just take too much space.

You're early, not even started sowing my tommies yet, good luck with that.

Lucky my greenhouse is still frozen solid.
Sowed toms end of January most years but they seam for me to do better sowed in March. Lost a few cucumber plants last April and got more seeds which came away and produced fruit at same time as those left.

Looking back at my blog I see we had first flowers on the cucumbers on 17th April last year. I got rather tied up with non-gardening stuff for a few months after that and didn't record first harvest, but I recall it went pretty smoothly.
