  • Courgettes

Evening, noob grower here and I decided to grow courgettes for the first time ever and I'm baffled at what is happening to some of my leaves. Some seem to be curling into a ball and going crispy and brown on the edges of their leaves.

Any ideas on what this could be?

    Thank you

Good evening & welcome to the vine it’s stressed about something, what type of container is it in,is it big enough or could it be too cold in the place it is?

        Thank you very much!

It's in a 5 inch pot and the lowest temp it has felt will be 16c throughout the whole process so far. It was at 45c for an hour maximum a couple of weeks back when I accidentally left it in our little cheap plastic greenhouse all zipped up with the sun blaring. Maybe that could've caused the issues?

Looks really healthy apart from that leaf. Maybe a reaction to the heat you mentioned but if the rest of the plant continue to look healthy I wouldn’t worry

It looks like one leaf has touched a hot radiator or an electric fence.

                    Evening all,

I took the tip of focusing on the new growth as it looks healthy but as the weeks have passed I'm wondering if I should take off some of the leaves that are looking a little sad, any advice on if that's a good idea or not?

                    Thank you

That looks like sunscald. Cucurbits are quite prone to it.
I'd leave those leaves on, though. The green parts will still continue to photosynthesise, and the damage will not spread (although it's possible they could get damage further on a very bright day).
