  • Aubergines

My aubergines are about 2 - 3 weeks behind last year. Greenhouse air temperature got down to 4°C (compost down to 10°C.
Lost the first flower to cold but second one is hanging on.

I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."

Looking good QW, mine are a fair bit behind yours but I'm hopeful I'll get fruits this year rather than just pretty purple flowers.

You're ahead of the game again QW. Ours are about 12 inches tall but no signs of flowers yet.

Thanks. Like most folks this season has been a struggle for us. Had to use space heating in the greenhouse for the first time this year - our under-pot cables have sufficed before. In the ten years we have been living in West Cornwall we seem to have had more nights under 4°C this winter/spring than all the previous ones put together.
