  • Dwarf french bean successional sowing

I am growing dwarf french beans Safari again this year and have read I should sow a little and often. How many plants should grow per person and how frequently should I sow to get a longer cropping period please. Last year I had all or nothing. Trying to learn from my mistakes. Thanks.

I have 4 varieties with seeds from last year and I sowed 4 of each in cells, only 50% have actually germinated, so I will plant those inside the greenhouse for my first crop and I will sow the same amount of seed again next week for another crop later in the summer, I don't freeze mine, just have them fresh in season. That will feed me, my wife doesn't like them, so you could multiply by those amounts I guess.

I have sown 12 modules 2 beans to a module for 2 people. I find that will keep us going fresh and a few bags frozen until the climbing ones kick in. Which reminds me they wont unless I sow them. I then sow direct about every 3 weeks until round about the end of June. Hope this helps
