How is eveyone's doing?

Mine is getting over an inch thick stalks and showing no sign of stopping growing.

Is there a tip-over point to get it out before it bolts/starts smoking gauloise/etc even if it's not keeled over?

Mine is going well, got good sized stalks and the bulbs are swelling nicely.

I think it depends on variety - hardneck will send up scapes which can be harvested and are quite delicious. this won't hurt the plant at all.

Elephant garlic (which is quite possibly my favourite type) seems to go on forever without going too far in my experience.

I absolutely adore garlic, I think I can safely say, I will never have any issues with vampires.

The leaves gradually lose their green & start going straw colour,best to get them out when it’s dry,we’re about to have a lot of rain,wait till it’s dry if you can. Last year I harvested 25th of June.

If you leave it too long the paper round the bulb splits and the cloves break free during storage.
Ours came out two days ago so it could start drying before the rains come. Best garlic harvest we've had to date

Am planning to keep mine in the ground a bit longer. They haven’t started yellowing or dying back yet, so hopefully the bulbs will keep swelling.

Plant on shortest day and harvest on longest day.

Mine have just started to turn. I reckon I'll have garlic the size of tennis balls at this rate...

One of my violet de cadours in a large tub was keeling over so I dug it up. A good sized bulb so happy with that but then I noticed 2 of the others had scapes developing. Which is not what I would expect as thought it was a softneck? And wondering if that will mean the rest wont keep very well.

8kg of garlic! Had to throw a few away, but overall happy. I suspect there may be a bit of white rot, but didn't stop the growing.

Opps! I’ve taken up all my garlic, including the elephant garlic, all a bit small, but the amount of rain we’ve had, I was worried it would all rot!

am using it already, it’s good, but small.

Pulled ours up before the rain started. It's drying nicely and have started using it.

Have been leaving mine in the ground as scapes coming but no sign of die back. Might have a bit of a fumble though to see how they are doing.

I lifted mine yesterday as I started to worry about them rotting. I'm gald I did as some had their outer skins rotting off. I've popped them in the greenhouse to dry off but if I hadn't have read the messages in this post I probably would have left it a few more weeks and they'd have rotted
