Yesterday I collected two big bin bags full of seaweed, and I was wondering if it would be okay to use as a mulch for annual crops? Specifically I was thinking beans and tomatoes.

Don't see why it couldn't be used for mulch. We dry it (for storage) and make liquid feed for toms, aubs and peppers. A little goes a long way. Did read that red seaweed shouldn't be used as it accumulates cadmium.Location ... Nottingham

It can get a bit rank and slimy if you spread it too thickly. We are able to drive right onto the beach so are tempted to load up too much.
Asparagus likes seaweed. Slugs don't.I live in a part of the UK with very mild winters. Please take this into account before thinking "if he is sowing those now...."
