What I've got so far, compared with previous years:-
Sweet success:- As sweet as sweet Million, but slightly larger and with a thicker skin, so they don't split at the first opportunity.
Indigo Cherry Drop:- More prolific than Indigo Rose, but bland in flavour. The Indigo Rose have an interesting smokey flavour.
Cuor Di Bue:- Fairly bland, go soft quickly, but large. Ok for Ragu.
San Marzano, old reliable. The fifth year from saved seeds. Good for eating or cooking.
Super Sauce. Don't know what they'll taste like yet. One of them has just started turning colour. Very few fruits, but enormous. Annoyed that they are purported to be indeterminate, but are very definitely a bush type.Location:- Rugby, Warwckshire on Limy clay (within sight of the Cement factory)

Gives me food for thought for next year as will have the greenhouse so will try a wider variety.
This year the crimson crush are good but most tasty when left on the plant to ripen fully. The crimson cocktail are so so.
The golden sunrise got a definite thumbs down from the chief taster being pretty flavourless. Pity as they are quite prolific.
Finally the rosella is a hit with plenty more to come.
All grown outside and no blight so far.

The excellence in taste this year goes to Black Cherry and Gardener’s Delight. They are delicious.
Apricot Dream isalso very good(the only hybrid I had)
Good
Red Zebra which is stripey tomato and I thought it would be good substitute to Tigerella.
Orange Banana
Roma which is apparently cooking one but I like to eat it
Black Russian or Black whatever- from self saved seeds, large salad size
A bit “meh” Indigo Blue- the prettiest looking one with purplish fruit turning to red/orange
Still to try
Ailsa Craig
Cherokee Purple
some massive beefsteak one that I must have scrounged at the start of the season.
Blight is here, dry weather managed to slow it down so fruit is ripening nicely but will be ripping the plants at the weekend.
Bren (and anybody else) I’m saving the seeds so happy to send away a few. If there’s too many takers might request SAE.

As most of my tomatoes (well the few that I got in spite of blight) were picked before they were ripe and had to ripen indoors, it feels a bit unfair to judge their taste.
I will therefore give most varieties another chance over the next couple of years (I had 14 varieties going this year ).
The one I really liked was Pink Boar, a few managed to ripen on the plant and were very tasty. And there was another plain medium size red one that was delicious, but as it was amongst the emergency harvest I have no idea what variety exactly.Location: London
