It is a plum variety growing in a layer of clay over well rotted stable manure along the edge of a squash bed.
It is not black enough to be blight.
There is a chance that it is overheating as the sun has been pretty strong over the last few days. I base this on the fact that tomatoes are grown under sun screening material in Spain.
